The external program memory has a capacity of 10 kbytes. For projects involving only one Pluto, this memory is sufficient to store the PLC program. Additionally, it can be utilized to assign a specific address to Pluto AS-i.
IDFIX is an identifier circuit that assigns a unique address to each Pluto on the bus. This circuit contains an identification code that can be read by the system. The PLC program declares the identification code, enabling each Pluto to execute the correct part of the program. In multi-Pluto projects, the use of IDFIX is mandatory to ensure proper addressing. However, if a unit operates independently, IDFIX is optional.
If a Pluto in a multi-Pluto project needs replacement, the new Pluto can self-load the PLC program from another Pluto on the bus. The IDFIX guarantees that the new Pluto will have the correct address on the bus, ensuring seamless integration into the system.
